My life like so many American and others throughout the world have been forced into making a change. For many, the change was unplanned, unexpected, burdensome, and even destructive to their lifestyles.
I mean, like, being fired or dismissed from your place of employment for no fought of your own. This is especially difficult when you have no rainy-day funds set-a-side or someone else to take up the slack. Or as so many in this country are now experiencing a loved one being snatched up by ICE. The trauma and drama of being pulled into this lost of the caretaker or provider to deportation and for many imprisonments. Then, there’s the black hole one spirals down into from the heartbreaking experience of the death of a lifelong loved one. What about when you go to the doctor and get news of a serious health issue that will shortly change the way you manage your life and/or cause you to become dependent on others. These are just a few scenarios that life can force you to make a change.
When this happens, we instantly go into panic mode. All day and I mean literally 24 hours our minds are focused on thinking the worst of what “COULD” happen if we “Can’t” do this or that. This is perfectly normal. It is human nature to do so when we are placed in an uncertain situation.
Go ahead and feel those feelings. Yes, get it all out. Scream, cry, roll-up in a fetus knot, darken the house or eat for days in front of the TV.
When you are ready, and hopefully it won’t be TOO long – take a good look in the mirror. . . . Yes, you probably look and feel like crap. RIGHT now, it’s time for you to come to yourself. That is, to remember who you are and what you are truly capable of doing. Your attitude and perspective can, N– will change the trajectory of your life. Now!
Now is the time to get unstuck! To move those negative feelings and that mindset of hopelessness aside. Now is the time you make up your mind to move forward to live the BEST and FULLEST life possible. It is simple to do. . .. Just THINK of one positive thought and follow it with a positive action. Then, repeat over, and over again.
Even in the midst of a FORCED change you can take control of where you land.
