Akili Castlin

Aron “Akili” Castlin is Co-founder and CEO of Breaking Chains Mending Minds, LLC. He is BCMM’s Post Incarceration Syndrome [PICs] workshop and BCMM Online Support Group Facilitator.  Aron has twenty-five years of Lived Experience. He is a trained Recovery Coach and Peer Support Specialist. Aron holdscertificates from Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network(DWIHN) in ACT-Advanced Elements, Recovery and The Stress Vulnerability Model, Basic Elements of Assertive Community Treatment, and Crisis Pre-intervention using verbal De-escalation amongst other certifications. 

Aron is an artist and author of several books of poetry: Who Am Eye, and Who Eye Am; A Truth Seekers Journey. His poetry has been featured on KHSU-FM’s Mad River Anthology. He has been featured in the Documentary film “To Kill or To Cure,” Gala film’s production for the Canadian Broadcast Corporation(CBC), His artwork and poetry have been featured in Prison reform exhibitions and books on mass incarceration, most recently in; “Spatial Violence,’ by Andrew Herscher and Anooraha Sidiqi.

Aron is a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member and a SER METRO, Journey To Success Award recipient.

LaToya Bohanner

LaToya Bohanner is Co-founder and director of business operations for Breaking Chains Mending Minds, LLC. LaToya is also BCMM’s facilitator for Family Reintegration, and Professionals Workshops offered by the company. She is a trained recovery support coach for women. LaToya’s pseudonym LC Devine, author of the “Women In Trouble” series created from her lived experience.

LaToya is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Pre-Law and Government. 

In her spare time she loves to paint and gardening.
