Finding stable housing is often one of the biggest challenges after incarceration or during recovery. At Breaking Chains Mending Minds, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to sleep, regain stability, and begin building their future.
Our transitional housing in the Detroit area provides fully furnished private rooms in shared homes designed for adults who are capable of independent living while working toward their personal, employment, educational, or recovery goals.
What’s Included
Fully Furnished Private Room
Each resident receives a private bedroom that includes:
- Comfortable twin-size bed
- Nightstand
- Dresser
- Chair
- New bedding
- New bed linens
- New towels
Shared Living Spaces
Residents also enjoy access to comfortable common areas including:
- Living room with widescreen television
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Stove
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Cookware
- Dishes and silverware
- Washer and dryer
- Internet access
A Clean, Respectful Environment
Residents are expected to help maintain a clean and respectful home by cleaning up after themselves and treating fellow residents with dignity.

- Returning Citizens
- Veterans
- Individuals in recovery
Whether you’re rebuilding after incarceration, continuing your recovery journey, or simply need a stable place to begin again, we welcome you to apply.
Pricing
Monthly Rent
$550–$650 per month (Depending on room and location.)
Move-In Fee
$200 one-time fee. This fee covers new bedding, linens, towels, and other move-in essentials prepared specifically for each new resident.
House Guidelines
To ensure everyone has a safe place to live:
✓ No drugs
✓ No smoking
✓ No alcohol
✓ No weapons
✓ Visitors welcome from 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
✓ Visitors are not permitted inside resident bedrooms
✓ Residents must be able to live independently
